Hallo

Viele kennen es ja bereits aus den letzten 2 Jahren. Das F-Secure Technology Preview ist ein kontinuierliches Beta-Programm, in welches immer wieder neue Technologien hineingegeben, dort getestet und anschließend in die Endprodukte integriert werden.

Es bietet eine Übersicht über kommende Produkt-Weiterentwicklungen und ermöglicht es dem User, kostenlos und frühzeitig an allen Innovationen teilhaben zu können, noch bevor sie auf den Markt gebracht werden.

Dieser Thread soll dazu dienen, Informationen rund um dieses Beta-Programm zu sammeln und Neuigkeiten zu posten.

In Kürze wird auch die Beta für die Home-Produkte der neuen Generation 2010 starten.

Safe Web - Safe Web, which is available as a browser plug-in, helps you protect your personal information which you may sometimes have to enter on the Internet when, for example subscribing to newsletters, joining web communities or buying something online.

Das wird aber natürlich nicht die einzige Neuerung bleiben

Mal eine Unternehmensnews.
Passt vielleicht auch hier herein, weil es ja bekanntlich auch um Innovation geht:

Auch F-Secure konnte (wie Symantec) ein deutliches Wachstum für das dritte Quartal 2008 verzeichnen. Angeblich so groß, wie noch nie ("fett" von mir):

München – 18 Prozent Wachstum: So lauten die erfreulichen Unternehmenszahlen, die F-Secure für das dritte Quartal 2008 verkündet. Mit 28,6 Millionen Euro Umsatz legte F-Secure sein bislang erfolgreichstes Quartal seit Firmengründung hin. F-Secure konnte in den vergangenen neun Monaten seine Wachstumsrate kontinuierlich steigern. Der Gewinn lag bei 7,1 Millionen Euro, das entspricht einem Viertel der Umsätze. Der Sicherheitsexperte verbucht dabei einen Cashflow in Höhe von 5,3 Millionen Euro im dritten Quartal des laufenden Geschäftsjahres.

Als Grund dafür gab Kimmo Alkio (CEO/ Präsident) folgendes an:

„Innovationsstärke ist einer unserer wichtigsten Werte. Wir freuen uns, diesen hart umkämpften Markt mit weiteren Neuerungen und Diensten bereichern zu können. Genau diese Fähigkeit ist einer der Grundsteine für unser weiteres Wachstum.“

Im Grunde genommen das, was ich persönlich an F-Secure so schätze.
Die Beta für die 2010er-Homeprodukte sollte übrigens baldig starten.

die Webtrail Beta ist ein hübsch gemachtes und gut funktionierendes Infotool. Erkennt witziger weise aber nicht die Client Security.
Behauptet, es sei keine Sicherheitssoftware auf meinem PC vorhanden.

F-Secure Online Backup Beta Program

About Online Backup
Think how many photos you have on your computer. Or documents? E-mails, letters and receipts of your online purchases? Have you ever considered what will happen to your files if - or when - your computer's hard drive fails?
F-Secure Online Backup is a product that enables you to save all those important files to a safe location over the network. The files will be securely transferred and stored in encrypted format, and can be later restored on the same or different computer.
After the installation, F-Secure Online Backup analyzes the computer and finds all the documents, e-mail archives, pictures, videos and so forth. They can be stored anywhere on the computer's local hard drives (USB drives are not supported). Alternatively, you can select manually which files or directories you want to back up.
As the list of files to be backed up is being populated, F-Secure Online Backup already starts the backup process by copying the files to the backup servers over the Internet.
F-Secure now starts the beta piloting project for F-Secure Online Backup. We would like you to try it out and send us feedback about it. But be quick to join, as we have only a limited number of beta licenses reserved for this beta program!
For active pilot users who also submit us proper feedback (determined by F-Secure Beta Piloting Team) we will give free 6-month license for F-Secure Online Backup after this piloting project.

Die Beta-Phase für die 2010er-Produkte hat nun begonnen.

Was ist neu ?
1.) SafeWeb
Safe Web helps you protect your personal information, which you may sometimes have to enter on the Internet, when for example subscribing to newsletters, joining web communities or buying something online. The personal information may include your password, credit card number or for instance your e-mail address. This prevents potential spamming and phishing attempts (attempts to steal your personal information).
Safe Web also protects you against web pages known to host various kinds of malicious applications.
Safe Web is available as a browser plug-in and supports:
o Internet Explorer 6.0 and 6.0 SP2
o Internet Explorer 7.0
o Mozilla Firefox 2.0x
2.) Action taken when scanning viruses and spyware is unified
One decision about the treatment of malware is required. This affects manual scans and scheduled scans.
3.) Notification flyer for scheduled scans
A flyer will appear when a scheduled scan starts. Opening the flyer link will produce a dialogue that allows the scan to be aborted. Another flyer will appear when the scheduled scan ends, linking to a dialogue that allows the scanning report to be viewed. Flyer history will show past occurrences of the scheduled scan notification flyers.
4.) DeepGuard 2.0 Proxy support
DeepGuard 2.0 can now also communicate through a HTTP proxy. It will use the same proxy settings as configured for Automatic Updates (Advanced Settings-Automatic Updates-Connection)
5.) More detailed installation status
More information is presented during the installation progress phase about what’s currently happening. This is useful in order to see that the installation is progressing.

Naja, wenn Du mich fragst, dann gleicht F-Secure den Funktionsumfang lediglich den anderen Suiten an. Aber warum unterstützt das Backup-Modul keine USB-Platten?

Jepp. Die momentanen Features sind in der Tat eher eine Angleichung. Bin gespannt was noch kommt, denn das dürften in den nächsten 8 Monaten nicht die einzigen Neuerungen bleiben. Auch mal schauen, was SafeWeb noch für Erweiterungen mit sich bringt.

Zum Back-Up-Tool: Kann ich Dir leider nicht sagen. Werd mal schauen, ob ich was in Erfahrung bringen kann. Vielleicht wird´s ja während der Beta noch für USB-Drives erweitert.

Updated User Interface
The look and feel of the user interface has been updated. Note that this is the first of many upcoming changes, and not the final user interface.
No status notification of old databases after first boot
Previously there was a status indication on the F-icon after the initial boot-up, saying that the current databases are old. This happened while new databases were being downloaded. This notification has now been removed, and will only appear if no new databases have been downloaded after a certain period of time.
New Parental Control categories
Support for three additional Parental Control categories has been added: Blogs, Forums, and Social networks.
Refined infection cleaning dialog
The dialog which is presented when a virus is being removed has been refined so it’s possible to minimize it and use the computer while the infection is being cleaned. The look and feel of the dialog has also been updated, and an accurate progress bar has been added.
Safe Web shows information about rated links only when user clicks an icon by default.
Previously information about a rated link was shown when the user moved the mouse cursor over a rating icon by default. This has been changed, so the default option is now to show information only when the rating icon is clicked.

Mir gefällt der neue Look auch sehr gut. Vor allem SafeWeb läuft nun runder, als noch in der vorigen Beta-Version, in der man sich vor Pop-Ups kaum retten konnte (in max. Einstellungen).
An einigen Stellen gibt´s noch Übersetzungsfehler (siehe Screenshot Deepguard oben).
Die neuen Funktionen der Kindersicherung habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert. Der neue Dialog bei einem Virenfund und dessen Bereinigung ist nun transparenter und übersichtlicher.
Ein für mich besonders interessantes Feature ist zusätzlich die "erweiterte Prozessüberwachung" von Deepguard: In der Hilfe steht dazu leider aber noch nichts.

Zum Thema "erweiterte Prozessüberwachung":

In System Control settings, "Enable enhanced process monitoring" and "Enable browsing protection" are not functional. We didn't have time to hide them. They will be fully functional (hopefully) in next ISTP release. Sorry for this.

Darf man davon ausgehen, dass SAFE WEB (wieder) nicht unter 64bit verfügbar sein wird? Wäre schade! F-Secure und 100%ige 64bit Unterstützung.....hmmmm

Die derzeitigen Final-Versionen sollten uneingeschränkt auf 64-Bit-Systemen funktionieren. Das ist zumindest mein Stand des Wissens.
Das gilt auch für die aktuelle Beta-Version. Allerdings kann ich es leider nicht gegentesten. Hast Du SafeWeb mal unter 64-Bit ausprobiert?

Ich hatte im November '08 mal die 30-Tage Testversion drauf. Da war im Firefox zumindest nix zu sehen. Meine Info, und somit auch "Frage für die Zukunft" beruht einzig auf http://support.f-secure.com/beta/swtp/swtp.shtml Da ist nur von 32bit die Rede.

McAfee, Norton (US) bieten es an, unter 64bit =
TrendMicro auf alle Fälle auch unter 64bit.

Stimmt. Ich gehe ganz stark davon aus, dass SafeWeb auch eine 64Bit-Unterstützung bekommt, bevor das ganze in diesem Jahr final geht. Bis dahin wird noch einige Zeit vergehen.

Hi

Auch F-Secure schraubt fleißig an seiner Beta für die 2010er-Produkte.

Die neue Version von heute hat vielversprechende neue Features integriert:

*Updated User Interface
*Enhanced process monitoring - Enhanced process monitoring which gives improved protection against many Trojans and other malware aiming at infecting the user’s browser to steal information, such as passwords, bank credentials etc.
*Stronger protection against killing of processes - ISTP has a built-in feature that prevents malicious software from killing important processes; the user is always prompted for permission. In version 9.20, if Parental Control is installed, Parental Control Password is needed to authorize the killing of a process. Note: On Vista 64-bit, Service Pack 1 is required.
*Experience-based Application Control prompting - To reduce the amount of unnecessary Application Control prompts, ISTP 9.20 uses the real-time protection network to identify known non-malicious applications.
*Limited amount of DeepGuard (System Control) block dialogs - Some malware launchers can launch the same malware an infinite amount of times. From now on, 5 block dialogs are shown for the same blocked application. After this, the application is blocked silently. At restart, the counter is reset.

Ich wäre grundsätzlich mal dafür das endlich das GUI etwas modernisiert wird. Ehrlich gesagt war das immer der entscheidende Punkt weshalb F-Secure nicht mal Testweise auf meine Rechner kam. Ich weiss das ist weniger technologisch jetz wollte ich aber unbedingt mal loswerden.
Und diesen Punkt haben diverse Test´s von AV Suiten ja auch schon bemängeld an FSecure
