I used AVK cleaner in the safe mode and reinstalled the software more than 3 times, but the problem still appears.

I can´t help to solve this problem.
If you really cleaned your system and installed the correct version of TC (RC2 = final version), this error shouldn´t appear.
Perhaps it is a localization problem - you are running an english vista version, right?

Finally you should control your TC version number: open the TC user interface and go to the "Status"-area in the "SecurityCenter"-section.
Click on "Info" on the upper right gui-area:
AntiVirus: 19.0.0.49
Tuner: 1.2

You can also try to start the tuner module "stand-alone":
Go to "C:\Program Files\G DATA\TotalCare\AVKTuner" and start AVKTuner.exe.
Does the same error appear?

Yes, I'm using an English vista version. Do you think the problem is due to the system.
But when I install the English version of GDATA TC 2008, neither errors in firewall nor in AVKTuner appears.

i think there is a problem between the used languages. your system is an english vista and i think the german version of TC2009 is not correctly running with that. Of course if u use the english version of TC2008 there are no errors in firewall or tuner, cause its the same language.
in earlier days i had an problem with Windows 2000, that was in english, and some programms in german, had their problems with win2000.
so my idea is.....there is an issue with the languages

please try the following: do a right-click on the system-clock (or is it "watch" ?) and choose the entry to modify time and date settings.
Click the button to change the time zone and select "(GMT +01:00) Amsterdam, Berlin,...)".
Try to start the tuner again...
The Tuner module deals with time and date values. Perhaps this causes the error.

From what I can say, it doesn't matter what Vista language version you have. I've got a Win Vista Ultimate x64 in English using the German GDTC2009 and there are no such problems. The only "issue" there is, if we can even say that this is an issue, is the fact, that part of the software is in English (the firewall for example is completely in English) whereas the suite itself is in German.

Ich hatte soeben die Meldung in Vista Ultimate 32, dass COM Surrogate den Dienst quittiert hat, nachdem ich GData aus'm Tray hervorheben wollte und bestätigt hatte, dass er einen "schnellen Scan" ausführen soll. Danach hat sich GData aufgehängt, bzw. das Fenster, welches sich bei der Virenprüfung öffnet, lässt sich nicht mehr schliessen und machen tut GDIS2009 auch nix mehr. COM Surrogate hat zwar nicht viel mit GData zu tun, jedenfalls trat der Fehler irgendwie doch im Zusammenhang mit GData auf. So scheint's mir.

(Naja, Vista, egal in welcher Form, ist echt eine Offenbarung - in negativer Hinsicht)

I think G DATA will check this issue before releasing international versions.

An alle, die auch Spyware Doctor nutzen

Der von mir weiter oben erwähnte COM Surrogate Fehler entsteht bei GDIS2009 im Zusammenhang mit Spyware Doctor 6. Wie schon bei der GDIS2008 scheinen die beiden Programme nicht optimal miteinander auf einem PC zu funktionieren. Egal, ob dies nun Vista oder XP ist.

Falls jemand ebenfalls Spyware Doctor 6 benutzt, bitte mal testen, ob beim Ausführen eines Scans (z.B. Rootkit Prüfung) der genannte Fehler auch auftritt. Dass das Problem bei mir unter XP wie auch Vista mit jeweils der 2008er und 2009er GDIS auftritt kann nun kein Zufall mehr sein.

hallo.ich habe die firewall auf manuelle regelerstellung. wenn ich msn messenger starte bekomme ich die meldung:server anwendung geht auf empfang. der messenger funktioniert aber normal auch wenn ich das verbiete. was genau heisst diese meldung?und soll man die erlauben oder verweigern? danke

Ich habe grad ein Anliegen. Und zwar finde ich es ein Problem, dass man an GDIS2009 nichts einstellen kann, wenn man einen manuellen Scan gestartet hat. Das heisst, wenn man bereits eine von drei Platten gescannt hat, muss man, will man beispielsweise eine Regel in der Firewall erstellen, entweder lange abwarten oder den Scan abbrechen. Und danach fängt der Scan dann nochmals von vorn an

Es ist wünschenswert, dass die Firewall dennoch bedient werden kann, auch wenn ein Scan läuft.
